Short Ships Regatta

The Apprenticeshop invites rowers to a morning of racing in our long standing Short Ships Regatta! This regatta is a rowing only event for teams or singles, skiffs, shells or any rowing or paddle vessel less than 100 feet in overall length. It will take place in Rockland Harbor and has a strong focus on sportsmanship and fun. Boats are not provided.


Schedule:

08:00am    Check In/Registration (can be done online ahead of time or day of in person)

09:00am    Skippers Meeting

10:00am    Estimated Race Start

01:00pm    Results at the Bo’sn Locker

Format: Single start, vessels scored individually. Single or multiple rowers.

Course: Course will be set with orange marks, first leg being lemon cove start line to breakwater light mark, second leg being breakwater light mark to Jameson point mark and third and last leg being Jameson point mark to finish line.

Rules: will follow US Coast Guard Colregs. Collisions will disqualify the vessel. Races are scored on the low point system.

Safety: USCG Approved PFDs are mandatory for all participants.
