Fundraising Breakfast at Cafe Miranda
The event is open to everyone. Bring your family and friends!
On February 22, from 7am-10am, Cafe Miranda will host a Community Breakfast in support of free youth programming at the Apprenticeshop. The breakfast will be first come, first served with a pre-fixe menu for $15 including coffee and oj. Half of the breakfast proceeds will go to the Apprenticeshop to support its Maritime Skills program for local youth based in traditional boat building and boat handling techniques. Currently, the Apprenticeshop is partnering with RSU13 and One Community Many Voices to offer free after school programs for middle schoolers and in school engagement for highschoolers several days a week. Students are working on projects like steam bending to build toboggans and fishing nets, jig making to build skateboards, and assisting in the construction of a traditional Portugese sardine carrier. As the season allows, students will get out on the water in traditionally built boats.
