Ready to make some waves? The Apprenticeshop is thrilled to invite you to the 22nd Annual Red Jacket Youth Regatta on Saturday, August 9th, 2025! This exciting event is a fantastic opportunity for young sailors aged 8-17 to showcase their skills, learn new techniques, and have a blast on the beautiful waters of Rockland Harbor.

Join us in celebrating the legacy of the Clipper Ship “Red Jacket” and become a part of Maine's proud maritime history. Whether you're racing for the first time or aiming for the top spot, this event promises something fun for sailors of all skill levels!

Why Join the Fun?

• Boats Provided: We’ll supply a fleet of Optimists, 420s, and four beautiful, wooden Carney 8 prams built by the Apprenticeshop.

• Skills Development: Hone your racing skills in Optimist dinghies and club 420s.

• Sportsmanship & Fun: Emphasis on friendly competition and having a great time!

• Awards & BBQ: Compete for sportsmanship and top place awards, then enjoy a delicious BBQ with fellow sailors

Bring your family and friends to cheer you on from the dock or a spectator boat. It’s a perfect day to explore the Apprenticeshop campus and learn more about our youth sailing programs.
