Due to the predicted high winds this weekend, we will be postponing the Red Jacket Regatta.
The new date is Saturday, August 17th - all other event details remain the same!
If you have already registered, we will email to confirm you are still able to attend. Registration will remain open until Thursday 8/15. Space is limited, signing up early is encouraged!

Ready to make some waves? The Apprenticeshop is thrilled to invite you to the 21st Red Jacket Youth Regatta on Saturday, August 10th, 2024. This exciting event is a fantastic opportunity for young sailors aged 8-17 to showcase their skills, learn new techniques, and have a blast on the beautiful waters of Rockland Harbor.
Join us in celebrating the legacy of the Clipper Ship “Red Jacket” and become a part of Maine's proud maritime history. Whether you're racing for the first time or aiming for the top spot, this event promises something fun for sailors of all skill levels!

10:00 AM: Skipper’s Meeting
11:00 AM: Estimated First Race
3:30 PM: No Races Start After This Time. BBQ and Awards to Follow!
Why Join the Fun?
Boats Provided: We’ll supply a fleet of Optimists, 420s, and four beautiful, wooden Carney 8 prams built by the Apprenticeshop.
Skills Development: Hone your racing skills in Optimist dinghies and club 420s.
Sportsmanship & Fun: Emphasis on friendly competition and having a great time!
Awards & BBQ: Compete for sportsmanship and top place awards, then enjoy a delicious BBQ with fellow sailors.
Spectators Encouraged!
Bring your family and friends to cheer you on from the dock or a spectator boat. It’s a perfect day to explore the Apprenticeshop campus and learn more about our youth sailing programs.
Registration is FREE - Deadline to register is August 8th.

Each club, school, or organization can initially register 1 pair of 420 sailors and 2 Optimist skippers. If spots are still available by August 8th, we may accommodate more entries.
