Fall High School Sailing at The Apprenticeshop!
Join us for the 2024 fall sailing season—open to all skill levels!
New for Fall 2024: 6th-8th graders can now join the Rockland Community team!
Eligibility: Middle and high school students from the greater Rockland area are welcome, including public, private, and homeschoolers. No prior sailing experience is needed. Participants must meet their school’s grade requirements.
Practice Schedule: September 5th - October 17th
Mondays & Thursdays: 3:30pm - 6:30pm
Regattas: Saturdays (locations include The Apprenticeshop, Boothbay, MDI, and Castine)
Registration Cost: $350 per student

Gear List: Staying comfortable and dry is key to enjoying sailing. The right gear helps you focus on learning and having fun. If you need gear, speak with the Program Director or your Coach.
Required Gear for Practices & Regattas:
USCG Approved Life Jacket/PFD (available from The Apprenticeshop)
Proper Footwear: Dinghy boots, deck booties, or old sneakers (no open-toe shoes; use synthetic or wool socks in colder weather)
Spring Season Only:
Drysuits: Must fit loosely for layering, with tight wrist/ankle seals. Inspect for wear before each use.
Additional Seasonal Gear:
Warm base layers (wool or synthetic, no cotton)
Warm hat & gloves with grip
Extra shoes & warm socks
Waterproof stopwatch & whistle
Sun hat or baseball cap, sunscreen, sunglasses with strap
Towel, water bottle or thermos for warm drinks
Light windbreaker, quick-drying shorts/pants
Gaiter or neck buff (for warmth or sun protection)
