LEVEL II (INTERMEDIATE SAILING) Taught in a variety of boats including Optimist prams, traditional wooden boats, and small keel boats, this class is for the intermediate sailor who is ready to take their skills to the next level. Students will be taught more advanced boat handling and sail trim techniques, maximizing their boat’s best performance which should bring smiles to their faces! Sailors are introduced to racing, fun drills and friendly competition. At the Instructor’s discretion and student’s skill level and confidence, they may be invited to day long area regattas. Rules of the Road and seamanship including basic chart work and knot tying, will be integrated each day.
Class Size limit: 12 Private Optimists are welcome.
These sailors will learn rigging, boat handling, sail trim, and how to sail safely in both light and heavy air in a variety of boats including 420s, and keel boats. Fun drills will help them gain confidence in racing, both at the start and around short courses. They will use the Club420’s to start as well as our boats with spinnakers and trapezes. Depending on experience, we will introduce some basic racing and encourage those interested to attend some fun summer regattas.
This 18 hour class taught by women for women is a great way to gain skills and confidence on the water sailing. Our instructors will meet your skill level teaching the basics to beginners and challenging those who are shaking the rust off. A very popular class. Make the time to learn something new or get back to what you love!
