There's nothing like going out for an early morning row during the summer months, so get equipped to get out on the water this year. This week-long workshop provides a thorough, hands-on introduction to the craft of oar making. You'll learn the basics of patterning, cutting, shaping, and finishing a pair of oars using traditional hand tools, such as a spokeshave, drawknife, and block plane.
Each participant will take home a finished pair of oars that they can use for many years to come. Tools and materials provided.
Cost: $350. You can register here.
