LEVEL 1 (LEARN TO SAIL) For Ages 7 and up. This is an introduction to sailing for any age kid who want to learn to sail. Classes will be separated into age appropriate groups. Taught in Optimist and traditional boats, students will learn basic sailing and boat handling in a fun and encouraging environment. In addition, they will learn basic knots, navigation and water safety while building confidence on the water. Class size limit: 10
The Apprenticeshop's Sailing programs offer classes for youth in seamanship and sailing all summer! We have classes that run either for half days for two weeks, or for full days for one week for ages 7 - 18. Students learn rigging, sailing water safety, tides, weather, knots, racing, and seamanship skills. Sailors develop self-confidence, teamwork, and good sportsmanship while forming connections to the maritime environment that last a lifetime. Each class curriculum is carefully designed ensuring that all sailors are engaged in meaningful learning at their skill level.
ONE WEEK, FULL DAYS: Monday - Friday 9 AM - 3 PM TWO WEEK, HALF DAYS: Monday - Friday 9 AM - 11:30AM
